Top UK surfers Reubyn and Joss Ash are now on board with Power Balance. Just check out some of the action shots on the Net.Bigger things to come from the boys now that they have the Power!
Both Joss and Reubyn were born into a family with generations of surfing history. There Grandfather Dr Michael Ash brought two wooden long boards back from Australia in the early 50’s so naturally when their Father Peter grew up in Cornwall surfing was the thing to do all.
Peter’s children were put on surfboards as soon as they could walk. Both Joss and Reubyn took to it and would compete with each other seeing who could do better. Most of their sessions would be captured on video this was a great teaching aid.
In the mid nineties both the boys realised that they had potential so entered some of the local competitions only to win most they entered. Soon international brands were chasing them to offer sponsorship. Reubyn said he did not want to go to school just wanted to be a pro surfer. So we would take the whole family off to Indonesia for the winter months where we could train and hone their skills needed to come home and smash the competition! Shortly after this Joss became the English Open Champion.
Reubyn who had taken just about every English and British title at the age of 13 came home with the European Under 14 title. Then after a short break won the European Juniors again. He has had two wild card appearances against Kelly Slater (9 times world champ) and put up a great challenge to Kai Otton at the Billabong Mundaka CT last year. Reubyn is also the surfer with the most exposure in the UK surfing media and is acknowledged as Britain's best surfer (quote wavelength magazine) one only has to type his name into youtube to see why!
